HEI, Inc. has an opening at their Victoria, MN facility for a full-time Operator – Equipment. This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager and will work closely with Production. This position requires the use of various hand assembly techniques, computer use for loading programs, and provided procedures to run equipment which assemble product. In addition, this job involves technical and repetitive assembly tasks which must be performed efficiently and with a high degree of concern for product quality.
 
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
SMT: (Mydata & Datacon)
·         Differentiate between a good part and a discrepant part with the use of visual aids such as microscopes or other inspection equipment
·         Perform set ups required in accordance with the process specifications including first articles and checklists
·         Load and run computer programs
·         Verify alignment of components against the computer program
·         Load tools into the exchanger
·         Use scope to inspect take pictures of components
·         Inspects and repairs to meet all required standards
·         Rework components using hand assembly techniques and the following tools, including but not limited to, hand tools and soldering irons
·         Use measurement equipment where applicable
SAW:
·         Start up the machines every morning and recheck the height and offset to make sure alignment is correct and adjust if needed
·         Load saw blades and recheck blades for wear
·         Mount product on tape to load into the saw machine
·         Load and run computer programs
·         Verify alignment of components against the computer program
·         Consistently load product into the saw to lessen adjustments that need to be made to the setup
·         Blow off water following the product being cut
All Equipment:
·         Inspect, functionally test, and document when applicable, quality of own work and/or that previously performed
·         Understand and follow the provided HEI procedures and drawings
·         Record all necessary data on traveler
·         Follow safety guidelines
·         May train other production operators
·         Other duties as assigned
 
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
·         Excellent attention to detail while working at a fast pace
·         Effective, clear, and concise communication skills
·         Read and write in English
·         Basic computer skills
·         Ability to operate in a team based environment
·         IPC certified or possess capability to become certified
·         Must have excellent hand/eye coordination
·         Ability to solve problems
·         Willingness to learn multiple process steps
·         Open to change
·         Self motivated
·         Positive attitude
 
BACKGROUND/EDUCATION:
·         High School diploma or GED

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
